I'm Derek Carson, DDS.
As a second generation partner in our dental practice, I'd like to welcome you to our family dentistry.

I have been honored to be able to assist patients with their dental care and build strong relationships since 2004. I was born into dentistry when my father opened up Carson and Carson Dentistry here in 1972 and saw in person daily the immediate impact, he made on so many patients while I was around the dental office.

I truly enjoy doing all facets of dentistry whether it’s getting patients that smile they truly desire, eliminating them from tooth pain in a gentle kind manner, and providing multiple options that will fit our patient’s current situation. I strive to offer and implement the latest technology to our patients from 3D cad/cam, CT 3D x-ray digital imaging, implants, sleep dentistry and much more.

I truly believe to be the best dentist you should always deliver that dental care as if it was your own child or parent in the chair.

Growing up here as a native in the Camarillo/ Oxnard area I value very much our family practices' reputa-tion on top of the 3 generations of long-term relationships made here in the community.

It wasn’t until the age of 20 attending a dental sleep sedation course with my father that I became deeply motivated to do the work to become a dentist to help others. From a young age I was involved in competitive team sports here locally and ended up focusing on football as a quarterback at Rio Mesa High School.

Also,I trained heavily in tennis since I was 10 years old with #1 in the worlds the Bryan Twin’s at the famous Cabrillo Racquet Club in Saticoy which had numerous players go on to play college tennis.

I realized that athletic dream and received a college tennis scholarship to University of Akron in Ohio. I finished up after at Arizona State University earning my Bachelor of Science in Biology. The long road to dentistry became a reality and was accepted to the prestigious UC at San Francisco.

In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, golf, reading and exercise. I also enjoy classic cars, travel with my family and music. I am very active with my two children Kate and Nicholas and being the best father, I can be to them. They love learning tennis, piano, singing and playing games together.
